Racers get ready!

The 2013 Live Oak District Pinewood Derby Championships are coming on April 13, 2013, at the Santa Maria Town Center East mall (upper level, across from the Live Oak District Service Center). Driver check-in begins at 9:00AM.

First, second and third place winners for speed and show from each Den of each Cub Scout Pack in the District are eligible to compete at the District Championships. Packs running a family class may send those winners to District too!

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place for speed and show in each class! The District Grand Champion trophy will be awarded for the overall speed winner as well!

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

8:00AM – Track Set-Up

9:00AM – Driver Check-In

10:00AM – Flag Ceremony

10:15AM – Show Trophies Awarded

10:30AM – Races Begin

 

PACK AND RACER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • After your Pack race, first, second and third place winners for speed and show from each Den and the family category are eligible to be impounded for the District Championships. Care should be taken to protect the cars from damage (wrapping them loosely in a towel and placing them in a box works).
  • Cars may be lubricated prior to impound.
  • Each impounded car must have the following information written upon it: Racer name, Pack number, Scout rank (or “family”), and a contact phone number. Labels are OK.
  • Fill out the Pack Entry Form to register all of the impounded cars from your Pack.
  • Bring your impounded cars and completed Pack Entry Form to the Live Oak District Service Center at Santa Maria Town Center East (upper level, by GNC) by April 11, 2013.
  • All cars entered must have a driver present during the District Championship. Substitutes are allowed. Cars without a driver will not run.
  • Minor repairs to a car will be allowed within the pit area only. Absolutely no modifications or improvements will be allowed. Allowable repairs shall be at the sole discretion of the race marshals.
  • The organizers and volunteers are not responsible for damaged or lost cars if the above requirements are not met.
  • Respect the event and track boundaries at all times.
  • At no time should anyone ever step over a track. Please take the time to walk around the tracks.
  • Absolutely no running at anytime at the races.

District Pinewood Derby March 3rd, 2012 @ 9:00am

The 2012 Live Oak District Pinewood Derby Championships are coming on March 3, 2012, at the Santa Maria Town Center East mall (lower level, by Red Robin). Registration begins at 9:00AM.

First, second and third place winners for speed and show from each Den of each Cub Scout Pack in the District are eligible to compete at the District Championships. Packs running a family class may send those winners to District too! And best of all, it’s FREE!

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place for speed and show in each class! A District Grand Champion trophy will be awarded
for overall speed and show winners as well!

Plus, each participant will receive a patch! See the race day schedule and rules on the reverse of this page for more info

The race is the same date as our BBQ. Your dens will be contacting you for shifts to work, and if you are going to be at the district derby, we will move your shifts around to accomidate the race.

Cub Resident Camp – July 6-9th, 2011

Cub Resident Camp - Set aside July 6 – 9 for Cub Resident Camp (all ranks). This year’s them is Adventureland, and there will be plenty of activities and competition with this theme of exploring new areas. This is in addtion to our traditional programs of aquatics, bb guns and archery, nature, and handicrafts. Earn medals for fun activities. Fees: Special Early Bird Rate is $105 if fees are paid in full 30 days prior to the first day of your camp session. (Postmarked or received at Service Center) Standard fees are $135 if not paid 30 days prior to the first day of your camp.

Adults who volunteer for the entire week will receive a 50% discount for their son’s Day Camp fee.
